Creative Kids Company is a child care program that provides care to school aged children when school is not in session. Our program is housed in Shellsburg Elementary School and Tilford Elementary School in the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District. We facilitate social and educational opportunities that produce fun, lasting memories. We create such an atmosphere by having strong collaboration between families, our staff, the community and Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District.
School Age Before and After School Care
Serving children in kindergarten through fifth grade, Creative Kids School Age Before and After School Care operates in Tilford and Shellsburg Elementary Schools. Creative Kids provides care outside of school hours.
Open from 6am-6pm daily, your child care needs during early releases, no school days and late starts are covered!
Creative Kids provides fun and engaging activities such as crafts, games and guest speaker experiences to keep kids engaged and learning outside of the classroom!
School Age Summer Care
Creative Kids Summer Program is offered to children who have completed kindergarten up to those entering 6th grade. The program is located in both Tilford and Shellsburg Elementary Schools. Open from 6am-6pm daily, children enjoy adventures both on site and off-site.
When on site, children are engaged in art projects, physical activities in the gym, and get plenty of outside time. We bring guests to share their areas of expertise and introduce new concepts to the kids.
When going off site, children visit various pools, parks, and take weekly field trips around eastern Iowa. Your kids are sure to have a blast in our summer program that is a balance of structure and free play!
Preschool Wrap Around Care
Creative Kids Preschool Wrap Around Care offers care to children ages 3 and 4 who attend Tiny Vikes Preschool within Tilford and Shellsburg Elementary Schools.
With no need to transport mid-day, this program was designed to help children and families gain access to preschool instruction in a school setting with a seamless transition to high quality child care. Creative Kids provides care outside of school hours.
Open from 6am-6pm daily, including days Tiny Vikes is not in session. Creative Kids provides fun and engaging activities such as games, sensory activities, outside time, free play and social time with peers.
Our directors work in collaboration with Tiny Vikes preschool teachers to align academic opportunities such as name writing, rhyming, syllables, 1:1 counting, fine motor skills, sorting, and patterning.
Winter Break Program
Creative Kids offers families an opportunity to sign up for care on days that they are open and Vinton-Shellsburg is closed for Winter Break. Only offered when school age programs are not at capacity.
Children have an opportunity to engage in on-site activities such as crafts, physical activity, movies, and free choice play. Children also have an opportunity to attend off-site activities such as skating at VPRD, visiting the Palace Theater, and making personal pan pizzas at Cranky Hanks.
All paperwork is required and families must pay for care in a lump sum ahead of service. There is no registration fee for this program.

Creative Kids Child Care accepts Child Care Assistance through the State of Iowa.
